Features
Audio Performance and Customization
Achieve a competitive edge in your favorite games with the Arctis Nova 5P's advanced audio capabilities. The headset supports X-Ray Hearing technology which enhances footsteps, bomb plants, and potion drinking sounds to give you an audible advantage over opponents. Users can select from immersive presets created by developers themselves or use the two save slots to maintain separate EQ profiles for gaming and Bluetooth audio that switch automatically based on the active connection mode.
The Sound platform includes 360-degree Spatial Audio support with free Sonar Virtual Surround Sound for Windows users. The headset is fully compatible with Tempest 3D Audio on PS5, Microsoft Spatial Sound, and various third-party spatial audio solutions to provide full immersion and situational awareness. All audio processing is handled by the custom Neodymium Magnetic Drivers which ensure perfect sound reproduction regardless of the game or music track being played.
Connectivity and Controls
The Nova 5P features a compact USB-C dongle that enables easy swapping between PC, PlayStation, Switch, Chromebook, Meta Quest, handhelds, and any device supporting USB-C. The Quick-Switch Wireless technology allows users to tap a button on the headset to move from high-speed gaming audio to Bluetooth 5.3 for mobile calls or music without leaving their game. While both connections remain active simultaneously, only one audio stream plays at a time, with the system automatically reverting to game audio once phone calls are completed.
All essential functions are accessible via intuitive on-ear controls including a power button, volume dial, mute switch, and RGB lighting toggle. The microphone is fully retractable for elegant comfort during travel or solo listening sessions, though optimal voice quality requires the boom to be extended near the mouth. The ClearCast 2.X microphone utilizes a new high-bandwidth chipset supporting 32KHz/16Bit audio with bidirectional noise cancellation to ensure clear communication.
Battery and Charging Specifications
Designed for marathon gaming sessions, this headset offers an impressive battery life of up to 60 hours in Bluetooth mode or 50 hours on the 2.4GHz wireless connection. FAQ
Is the Steel Series Arctis Nova 5P compatible with my gaming systems?
The headset supports cross-platform gaming via a compact USB-C dongle, working with PC, PlayStation, Switch, Chromebook, Meta Quest, handhelds, and any device that supports USB-C including phones and tablets.
Can I listen to game audio and Bluetooth audio at the same time?
You can connect to both 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth simultaneously, but the Nova 5 only allows listening to one audio stream at a time; you can switch between them instantly using the Quick-Switch button on the headset.
How does the microphone perform when retracted?
The ClearCast Gen 2 microphone is fully retractable for comfort, but since it is directional, it must be extended and close to your mouth to capture high-quality sound; it will still pick up audio while retracted but with reduced clarity.
Can I use separate audio presets for gaming and music?
Yes, the Arctis Companion App allows you to save separate EQ profiles for your 2.4GHz gaming connection and Bluetooth media listening, which switch automatically when you toggle between modes.
What software is required for advanced features like AI Noise Cancelling?
The GG + Sonar Audio Software Suite requires Windows 10 or above to enable AI Noise Cancelling, while the GG + Engine works on Windows 8.1+ and Mac OS 10.13+, with the Nova 5 App available for iOS 15.6 and Android 9.
