STAEDTLER: The German Stationery House Empowering Creativity Worldwide

From pencil to precision instrument, STAEDTLER has been shaping creative and technical expression for nearly two centuries. With a heritage rooted in craftsmanship and sustained by innovation, the brand remains a global leader in writing, drawing and modelling tools.

A Legacy of Innovation and Craft

Founded officially in 1835 by Johann Sebastian Staedtler in Nuremberg, Germany, STAEDTLER traces its origins even further back to the 17th century - when a craftsman named Friedrich Staedtler was making pencils.

Key milestones include:

• In 1900 the company registered the "Mars" brand name.
• In 1901 the "Noris" brand was launched - the iconic yellow‑and‑black striped pencil that is now a symbol of childhood creativity.
• The company remains headquartered in Nuremberg, with multiple production sites in Germany, and its products distributed in 150+ countries worldwide.

Today, STAEDTLER produces a wide spectrum of writing, colouring, drawing and modelling instruments for students, professionals and creative enthusiasts alike.
